Roots

This last weekend I got to sneek in a visit to see ol’ Mom & Dad. I grew up on a farm near Edmonton (and really did love it despite the fact it drove me crazy as a teen). As you grow older, you really value your parents and where you come from. I went to a family function while there (I got to say here, I don’t know very many kind of famous people, but Mr. Stelmach – Alberta premier, is a close family friend, and of course ever since he came into office it is always weird seeing at these functions?!?!? – but pretty cool knowing him (: nice person), and got to also get a chance to visit where friends and families of our ancestors lived and grew with their families. It was pretty cool, especially having my dad give me a history lesson over the last hundred years. I think after going through this particular house, I thought it was the most interesting thing and then realized how wonderful it was to share some time with my dad (as adults don’t get to do as much). That was the most special of all. Before we started, my dad even said to me… let’s go on a little adventure – and indeed we had. Thank you Dad – I love you to pieces and I am looking forward to our next one.
